KOT
BOOKS is dedicated to promoting and distributing books
in the King of the Trees Christian fantasy series
by William D. Burt, former assistant professor at Western
Oregon University. Designed for readers of all
ages, this full-length series of 8-10 titles follows
in the time-honored fantasy tradition of C.S. Lewis,
well-known British author of The Chronicles of Narnia.
The first three titles in this series, The King of
the Trees (1998), Torsils in Time (2001)
and The Golden Wood (2002), are now available
through our website's secure server, by mail order and
at selected Christian bookstores.

A
Welsh-American whose forefathers mined copper in Cardiganshire,
William Burt spent nearly 30 years in the field of deafness
as a nationally-certified American Sign Language interpreter,
interpreter educator, grant-writer and program coordinator
before writing The King of the Trees and its
sequels. His ancestral language appears in the King
of the Trees series as Llwcymraeg, the language
of the fantasy world of Llwcymru (Lucambra). The author
has also served in Slavic ministries, both at home and
abroad. Currently, he lives in Hubbard, Oregon with
his wife, Johnnie, and two children, Rebecca and Evan.
About
the illustrators:
Terri
L. Lahr is a computer-aided drafter/designer at Breshears-Thornton
Engineering in Aurora, Oregon. In her spare time,
she also teaches community art classes, specializing
in watercolor. She makes her home in Mulino, Oregon
with her husband, Robert and two children, Torin and
Briel.
The
author's daughter, Rebecca Burt was one of twenty-seven
Oregon seniors nominated by high-school principals for
the Statesman Journal's prestigious Academic All-Stars
award for 2002. Having graduated as valedictorian from
Willamette Valley Christian School, Rebecca is currently
enrolled at George Fox University, majoring in education/music.
She enjoys drawing, painting, reading and playing the
piano.
