PLANT DECKS

EDIBLE AND POISONOUS PLANTS OF THE WESTERN/EASTERN STATES

First published in 1970 by the author's father, Calvin Burt, and his business partner, Ret. Col. Frank Heyl, these handy field guides for identifying edible and poisonous plants have enjoyed unflagging popularity among hikers, campers, and other outdoor enthusiasts. The western edition features many of the plants described in the "King of the Trees" series. Both editions have been utilized extensively by the U.S. military for survival training purposes.

These guides are printed in a convenient and compact playing-card format, fifty-two cards per deck, making them ideal for carrying in pocket or backpack. A full-color photo of each plant appears on the front of the card, with a detailed description of the species, its habitat and uses on the back.

Descriptions of edible species appear in black text; descriptions of poisonous species appear in red text. Poisonous species are also set apart by the word, "POISONOUS" instead of the word, "Uses."

THESE "PLANT DECKS" ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN MOST RETAIL OUTLETS OR THROUGH OTHER ONLINE STORES.
